Alexandra DeFurio is a Los Angeles based artist and fine art photographer. Her personal work is inspired by the themes relating to the exploration of the feminine, emergence of self and the importance of beauty in our lives. Her process includes the use of cyanotype printing, self-portraiture and double exposures.

Her work has been exhibited at the Pop Art Photo Show, The Hive Gallery, stARTup Art Fair and Los Angeles Center of Photography. Her photos have been published in Shots Magazine, Lenscratch, A Photo Editor and What Will You Remember?

Alexandra has spent the past two years mastering the historic art of cyanotype printing and is currently working on a collection of large scale unique prints. Other recent projects include Fault Lines, a self-portrait series that was created during a time of re-identification after loss and January, a visual journal of self-portraits revealing her personal story of hope after loss.

Alexandra is the creator of the immersive photo experience, Embodying The Feminine. Here she uses the camera as a healing modality, combining embodiment coaching with a unique style of portraiture, empowering women to fully embody their authentic expression, facilitating the healing of past wounds, re-identification, the claiming of one’s own beauty and transforming the way a woman relates to herself and lives in the world.

She earned a life coaching and leadership certificate in Soul-Centered Living from The University of Santa Monica, graduating class of 2021. Alexandra is also a writer and the mother of two daughters.
